Of course some businesses are going to go under, but that’s just the price the MAGA owners need to pay to make America great. Not everyone has what it takes.
Prices are already coming down in many places popular with overseas travelers. I visit Phoenix on a regular basis throughout the year and have for several years. The hotel prices fluctuate greatly between the off season (summer), where you can get a mid level hotel (Hilton Garden/Marriott Courtyard) for $99 and peak season (March) where the same hotel is over $350.
When I booked a hotel for March travel, it was under $200. The same hotel last year was $350. This past weekend, I made a last minute reservation at a hotel vacation property for about $150. Others had reservations at a Hilton for $130.
MAGA love this, though. It means cheaper travel options for Americans in American only. MAGA base doesn't do that much overseas travel so they don't care about America's global reputation or that the dollar is falling making it expensive to travel overseas. As long as they're stickin' to the libs, that's really all that matters.

There are two special elections in Florida coming up shortly, maybe they will save themselves.
I'm OP and I live in Florida - and don't get your hopes up. The only thing more incompetent than the Trump administration is Florida Dems.

I am not sure I would use my main phone to travel now.
Aren’t they asking for five years of phone numbers and email addresses though? Even a business traveler uses their personal passport.
Businesses will move entirely to Zoom. I’d rather wake up in the middle of the night to take a meeting than put up with this nonsense,
I don't understand how they check 5+ years of anyone's records??!! For any and every foreigner visiting US - come on! How much work is that by any fed dept?
It will be selectively enforced. Watch out, brown folks.
They are enforcing against white green card / visa holders now. Won't be too long until they start with white tourists / business people.

I would like some journalist to write an article walking through who does this and how. Either way it seems like it would be full of errors. Also there is already some writing about people in developing countries being paid less than a dollar an hour to look at violent disturbing content for Meta as moderators etc. I wonder who is looking at everyone’s social media and if they are being harmed by being forced to do so

Plus birthplaces, birthdates, residences of many of your relatives (kids, parents, siblings). What are they going to do with the DNA?? With all these links, they will get a lot of DNA, which could in principle be used on many US citizens due to the family linkage information (which could be worth a lot of money to US insurance companies...).
