Wow, at the end, she says, you'd expect "government" to do better. Not Trump.

These people like the abuse.

I hope no one tells her that they're gunning for HUD next so that could be the end of her Section 8 senior housing. Good luck, lady!

Not to mention her medicaid and food stamps....

I am glad the news is beginning to share stories beyond the DMV. So much of the populace has been ignorant to the knowledge that federal government employs people all around the country.

They'd still vote for trump

It's only been a month. Things are going to get bad. Like really, really, catastrophically bad. They will see the light soon enough.

This is precisely the kind of stupid and dangerous naivety that got us here. It's like some of you white liberal leaning people ( I know you're white) are so oblivious to the importance that these people put on their bigotry that you think you're dealing with rational and objective people. They weren't rational in 2016 and you think they'd be today ? You're fantasizing in your little out-of-touch corner that they'd come to you and say: 'You were right and I was wrong?'

You seem to forget that Trump LOST after his first terrible term. This time he is term limited but if you think folks don't change their mind about this jerk then you are not paying attention.

There will no exodus of MAGA to the democratic party. The most likely scenario is, they sit out the mid terms( if at all there will mid term elections) whilst the dems have an energized bloc show up and win resoundingly , that's it. I'm very much paying attention and that's why I think (and reiterate) that people are very dangerous. You sound an awful lot like the ones who were adamant that white women were going to overwhelmingly reject Trump. We know how that turned out .

It turned out a super old decrepit dude wouldn’t put his ego aside for the country and then a Bond villain bought social media and radicalized young men.
MAGA isn’t maga without a demagogue. I live in “real America” and plenty of my neighbors won’t be swayed, but they also won’t show up after Trump is gone.

There's no shortage of people vying to take the Maga mantle.

Yes, but CAN they? I will never understand Trump's appeal, but whatever it is, I don't think any of them have it.

I hate Donald Trump but he is charismatic and interesting, even in a nauseating way. The leeches on his ship are just that - faceless and unlikeable goons

+1

Without Trump, MAGA goes back to being the Tea Party.

I wonder if, when they take away her food stamps. Medicaid coverage and the Section 8 voucher, she is going to finally wake up and turn against Trump and republicans. My bet is no, she will rant that there is no money for people like her because illegal immigrants are getting white glove free healthcare, luxury housing, or Zelenski stole trilions, or the Biden crime family and so on.

You do know this happens in the private sector all the time. I honestly don’t understand the sense of entitlement to a job

This actually doesn't happen in the private sector "all the time." If a private sector employer has a policy and procedure for terminating employment, and the good ones all do, they will follow that policy and procedure. The government has policy and procedure for terminating employment, Trump is not following those policies and procedures.

Also, private sector employers do not try to fire other companies' employees nor send them directions to "do this or I will assume you resigned." Not everyone in the building works for you, dummy.

I suspect what you really can’t grasp is public service and the concept that running a government is not at all like running a business.

Which still doesn’t entitle you to lifetime employment

You are intentionally missing the point and pretending people are making an argument that no one is making. What's the point of doing that? You're just making up a dialog in your own head.

The irony. "The government" does do it better. It's Musk/Trump who is not doing it the way the government is supposed to do it.

I don't understand letting a drug-addicted, likely compromised foreigner shut down all the US agencies that were investigating him while giving him $700M in taxpayer-funded contracts.

“The government” of course.

I saw K Noem being interviewed and she was railing against the government. The reporter said, "You are the government now." She was surprised...She is the government along with Trump.
