Last time we tried out we never got a followup email. Crazy because it’s so easy to do. They appreciate your money and once they have it they don’t really care unless you are in. They issue some offers before tryouts start as soon as the tryout period opens. If you didn’t get a good feel and have a conversation with someone from the club who expressed interest in your player it’s unlikely you get an offer.

My guess is growing pains. Until a few years ago, Paramount only had one team per age group and only did tryouts on Friday night with no makeup tryouts. They pretty much knew who they were going to offer based on clinics and the only wild card was waiting for players to accept/reject so they could move down their list for that position. Now with multiple teams at some age groups, more younger teams, and makeup tryouts on multiple days it’s a lot more to manage.

I don’t know anything about this club but we learned the hard way last year to email the clubs to see if they have positions before going by Sunday. We went to one of these only to be told at the end of the tryouts that all positions were filled and thanks for coming. By today, don’t waste time. They are hoping for desperate people willing to pay. Email first to see if there are openings.

There is nothing wrong with being a middle at all, so you're right if that's what makes her happy, then by all means be a middle. I think where getting trained in other positions can be a benefit is if she decides she wants to play in college. At her height (assuming she doesn't grow much more) she could be considered on the smaller side for a collegiate middle, although if she's a big jumper or really skilled that may not matter so much.

Also, being more versatile is always a good thing. Beach volleyball is growing in popularity and if she ever decided to try that, being an all around player is critical to success.

These were not just added - they were available for a while. Multiple clubs are organizing make-up tryouts as they try to fill up their rosters. Many of these make-up tryouts were announced at the same time with the regular tryouts.

You should wait to see what happens with Strive before you accept the Stars offer. Unless you are sure that Stars is what you want and an offer from Strive would make no difference.

Obviously, if your DD has experience, she will know her skillset for positions. My DD started as a middle, worked hard to earn outside, and then coach moved her to right side. Also, some coaches will not even consider shorter players for front row, so if she listed OH/MB/OPP, those positions might not even be a possibility (even if she's a decent hitter), depending on the club.
