WAMU is in the middle of the their spring fundraiser. I wonder if they are meeting their goals. I don't donate anymore, but if they are getting enough support, maybe they don't care about those of us who have stopped listening.

What’s OAN?

I read the WSJ, financial times, and Economist. Much more informative and educational than the virtue signaling nonsense on NPR, which I quit in 2020 and never missed.

I would not say there is nothing wrong, but there are a lot of posters on here exaggerating about the number of stories about people from marginalized groups. I listen regularly and the number of grievance stories is way down from what it was 2-3 years ago. If they are saying it's all the time, they either haven't listened lately or they aren't really paying attention.


PP here. I haven't listened in 3 years. In order to regain all those millions of listeners like me, maybe they need to address the fact that they went in a wrong direction and have rectified their errors.


So you consider any news stories or including perspective from marginalized groups "wrong"?


DP. You know that’s not what people are saying. Of course including diverse perspectives isn’t “wrong” and personally I welcome it. It’s just when that swamps reporting.

I've listened recently and it still seems like this to me. Sure, the main story is not in this vein, but it's like they'll go out of their way to find someone to comment or talk about it that has this type of angle


+1. Even Up First doesn't give you just the biggest stories of the day, which is actually what I need to feel up to speed. It gives you a story or two, and then a story with an angle. At least, that's what was happening before I stopped listening 6 months ago.
