GU does not give much for consideration, unless you were grandfathered in under their old (and most univeristy's old) plan, but that has not been active for many years.

Anyway, if you can afford GU, definitely GU, hands down.

DP. OP said financial aid or merit. The money at Georgetown is likely grant aid based on financial need. Grants don’t need to be repaid, but it is not merit aid. Merit has nothing to do with financial aid. In casual conversations with people, even students/parents who received grant aid frequently call it merit. It’s not, but the financial impact is similar, except that grant aid must be renewed annually based on family finances and is not guaranteed, but merit is a sure thing, as long as the student maintains the required GPA and credit hours.

Miami Ohio - in engineering school $50K
York College of PA - guaranteed EE major $34K
Loyola Maryland $50k (ABET engineering department)
CNU $30K instate (ABET EE major)

Electrical engineering with interest in business/economics.

PP said FA or merit. So Georgetown would be need aid.

PP, great choices! I'd narrow to Gtown, UVA and WM, and see how kid likes campus, students etc. Maybe consider money, even if the difference seems small. For us, there was an 8k-15k difference, and, added up, it was more significant than we first considered.

Yeah, that’s what DC says. Also, did not apply to Stern. Was afraid of no acceptance. So only business school would be Kelley. Thanks

For business, would choose Michigan and Kelly over CMU. Mostly bc the social environment is better.

Why would you prefer UMich over CMU? Just curious. Is it because the kid prefers or if it is better school for finance. DC did not get through Ross at UMIch
