Biden should have restored all of the Trump and Obama border policies (including deportations) and maintained them for 6 months before a moment of discussion on any border bill. Anything else, is just rationalizing 3 years of outrageously terrible policy.

See the post above.

Courts overturned laws that Trump used to close the borders.
Title 42 only applied while the COVID emergency was in effect. Remember how quickly the GOP wanted to end the emergency?

Biden hands are tied unless you want him to take unilateral authoritarian action. I didn;t think that is what we wanted in our leaders. It akes a bi-partisan bill to address the problem. Biden is happy to sign it. Why won't the GOP bring it to the House floor?

Same thing happened under Speaker Ryan. The GOP is performative on this issue and sadly, a lot of you are falling for it.

Dems had all of Congress for his first two years and did squat on legislation while he undid nearly 90 executive orders and bragged about it. What are you talking about?

Not much the house can do without the senate. The Senate had manchin and sinema to deal with.

Loving the wrap up — Rob Lindsey graham and get people smiling, remind people that honesty, decency, public service.

Even Johnson seems like he has to smile a little bit about this.

Calling America to her better angels. Love it and hope America can choose this path over the path of nasty cynicism and selfishness which is The Way of Trump.

You tell ‘em, Joe!

This is battle is about good vs evil.

Trump is not the leader this country needs.

Meanwhile, the 1% is now paying a larger portion of federal taxes and total tax revenues are up considerably.

It’s not revenue, it’s spending!

The richest 1% has 16 times more wealth than the entire bottom 50% combined. When billionaires like Warren Buffett pay a smaller percentage in taxes than his secretary has to pay, then the billionaires damn sure can and should be paying more.

How exactly did the Biden family obtain their “wealth”? This guy has no business leading our nation. Please make the nightmare go away in November.

The GOP started heckling during the Obama administration. Classy, huh?

And the Democrats heckle whenever there's a Republican president - especially the last one. But you know that.

When? Link to the video?

There was the non-verbal rip of the paper after the speech was over a few years ago.

That’s it.

Biden did great. Democrats will vote for him. Republicans can tolerate him. To me, that’s ideal.

They may have let him take a longer nap before coming out? He is completely coherent which is comforting considering he is, presently, the actual President.

There was this thing called COVID happening which required legislation and attention to deal with the health crisis and the economic catastrophe left by Trump. That was the priority, no? Now is the time to deal with immigration and the GOP is failing the task. Just own it, because that is the facts.

Right, because corporations were so kind as to pass along all the savings they got from Trump's tax cuts, right?

Want me to post a chart that shows corporate profits and inflation since the Trump tax cuts kicked in?

Most of those 90 Trump EOs weren't even about the border, dingus.
