They confirmed that the US Soccer Membership is nothing more than sanctioning and the ability to build out their GA Rising platform. They said it also allowed them to "align with US Soccer standards" but were unable to state what those standards meant.
Interstingly, there was no mention of the clubs leaving, in fact the lady who was running it repeatedly stated that the GA was "the" elite platform and "thriving". There were no questions, and the chat was disabled.
No idea if it means anything, but seems strange to call an emergency zoom, and not address the elephant in the room and how the GA is looking to overcome this.

I haven't heard of this "short notice" meeting.
Very creative way to start a rumor.

Dang yall going to war in the comments over this.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:If we were to pit the GA National Champion vs. ECNL-RL National Champion in each age group, I think we might see the level of talent and play just about even. Depending on the area of the country they were from, the ECNL-RL team would probably be favorites.
How out of touch are you? If you’re on something, I need to know because I want to be on it too.
GA champ would go toe to toe with ECNL NL champ.
No. The other PP was over the top saying RL would be GA champs. But GA chanps could not play with teams like Solar.
The trend we've seen recently is the ECNL welcoming some of the best clubs in the nation, while the GA is welcoming, at best, mediocre clubs with no real track record, but infrastructures and visions. So, four years into the GA experiment, their hopes of the GA being what the DA once was have dwindled. Now these former DA clubs are realizing that the GA clearly plays second fiddle to the ECNL today and don't see that changing any time soon. More top clubs will soon follow suite, which will bleed the GA from a ton of talent. GA will still exist, for the time being. But as more and more top clubs continue to withdraw from the GA, it will spurn the continued ascension of the ECNL-RL past the GA in terms of competition and relevancy as these clubs put their talented B teams there.
Uncomfortable truth - VA soccer as a whole doesn’t hold a candle to the south/west and southwest clubs. Way too many teams… and we lack indoor facilities and true clubhouses.
Crazy for the money we throw around.
Anyways carry on this is entertaining…

Winning what? PR contest, sure. Too early to say anything else and if PR is your national championship have at it, ECNL for the win!
Is this quality over quantity or necessary migrations to a league that is a better fit for their boys programs?
