feel free to go fact check with your own GA sources if you would like.

I saw GA announced yet another club no one has heard of today, accepting its destiny as the next E64 it seems.

But the level of detail he includes in said stirring is something to behold, I must admit.

They confirmed that the US Soccer Membership is nothing more than sanctioning and the ability to build out their GA Rising platform. They said it also allowed them to "align with US Soccer standards" but were unable to state what those standards meant.

Interstingly, there was no mention of the clubs leaving, in fact the lady who was running it repeatedly stated that the GA was "the" elite platform and "thriving". There were no questions, and the chat was disabled.

No idea if it means anything, but seems strange to call an emergency zoom, and not address the elephant in the room and how the GA is looking to overcome this.

So let me get this strait...

GA held a short notice meeting. During this meeting they confirmed all the things ECNL parents want to hear, including info about GA rising which they never discuss, didn't take any questions, and didn't relay any new info.

On top of all the BS above a GA DOC told parents all the details so it can be posted on a soccer blog.

I don't believe you.

I haven't heard of this "short notice" meeting.

Very creative way to start a rumor.

It was this past Sunday at 4 PM, fact not rumor.. so in the words of this community CONFIRMED!

And GA DOC would tell you something like that out of the blue. That sounds like it would be something for club leadership or DOC really needs to question who they talk to.

it did sound like they had some cool things potentially planned with adidas though.

but all the let's pretend nothing is happening does cause concern.

Odd that they would have a short notice meeting and not allow any questions. Perhaps there was some concerns about how the alignment could negatively impact people with regards to processes, league structure etc. so they just wanted to reassure folks that this just gives them a bit more flexibility.

How out of touch are you? If you’re on something, I need to know because I want to be on it too.

GA champ would go toe to toe with ECNL NL champ.

No. The other PP was over the top saying RL would be GA champs. But GA chanps could not play with teams like Solar.

The trend we've seen recently is the ECNL welcoming some of the best clubs in the nation, while the GA is welcoming, at best, mediocre clubs with no real track record, but infrastructures and visions. So, four years into the GA experiment, their hopes of the GA being what the DA once was have dwindled. Now these former DA clubs are realizing that the GA clearly plays second fiddle to the ECNL today and don't see that changing any time soon. More top clubs will soon follow suite, which will bleed the GA from a ton of talent. GA will still exist, for the time being. But as more and more top clubs continue to withdraw from the GA, it will spurn the continued ascension of the ECNL-RL past the GA in terms of competition and relevancy as these clubs put their talented B teams there.
my kid is on a nl team…. And i feel its not that serious lol. Dang yall going to war in the comments over this.

Uncomfortable truth - VA soccer as a whole doesn’t hold a candle to the south/west and southwest clubs. Way too many teams… and we lack indoor facilities and true clubhouses.
Crazy for the money we throw around.

Anyways carry on this is entertaining…

Sadly, accurate lol.

Yup! and ECNL is winning!

Winning what? PR contest, sure. Too early to say anything else and if PR is your national championship have at it, ECNL for the win!
Is this quality over quantity or necessary migrations to a league that is a better fit for their boys programs?

The PR war is all that counts. Parents and College coaches are the buyers. PR is what drives both.
