Basic math says that if every post in this thread had been written by the same person, that would still fall significantly short of HALF the daily flights over the Palisades and Foxhall.

Maybe the person is taking a break from complaining to the FAA? You never figured that one out either. And being wrong changed nothing there too.

I am not condescending about my neighbors, just about this nutty poster who blew up this thread to 28 pages. And I am not a real estate agent, but I might have to disclose a nutty neighbor when selling.


Do it and disclose why. Because it was high time someone blew the whistle (again). There have been a number of honest people and you always try to bully them like a bunch of middle school bullies. Numbers are undeniable. If there are enough fools to keep buying that kind of grief and risk for the same price as unaffected neighborhoods, more power to you. But I hope people awake to WTOP and EOTP that is completely unaffected


Why does anyone needs to blow the whistle about something that is according to you so incredibly loud and disruptive? If that is the case how can anyone miss it?

Because none of my neighbors care in 20816. it’s such a small percentage of people like the PP
Who waste their efforts caring about this. I’ve never heard any of my neighbors complain about the noise. Sure it’s audible but so is a fire truck when it drives by.

Spend your time volunteering or something.

Honestly, it had to be done at some point. Your nutty neighbor(s) — who are also fighting for your interests in all the working groups and citizen associations and you thank them on local listserves — had the grace to never start a thread like this. It took repeated lies and such bold gaslighting to get nearly 10k views. OP did that, not us (multiple)

That’s a great comparison! How often does a fire truck drive by? There are between 800-1000+ planes over the Palisades and Foxhall from DCA alone every day. Not all are super low or as loud as a fire truck. But you bet more than a hundred or hundreds are. I hear about a fire truck per month? Maybe? I couldn’t fathom several let alone dozens every day

Just went and measured and didn't get anything close to 67 dB.


There’s a NIOSH app for iPhone. I measured LAeq 64.9 dB whereby unadjusted sound at peak was nearly 85dB. Depends where you are but that’s exactly in the National Transportation Noise map. I mean this is not unknowable if you want to be honest.
