Starting Aug 28, winter break is a week and a half instead of 2 weeks.

Well, I'll be making our winter break 2 weeks anyway.

Us too. I don’t mind though. If families need child care for the first half of that week I understand. There won’t be any actual learning happening.

But there may be learning happening the week prior rather than than losing those days to pre-break fatigue. So we shift forward the movie days and parties that would have happened the week prior. More days for learning, fewer days off for young kids. Fewer days that families have to cover for child care. Much more sensible winter break.

Exactly. There won't be any learning happening on these days cuz families will feel entitled to pull their kids for vacay in Vail. Probably the same ones who complained about closed schools and learning loss.

Yay! The 2 week winter break has always driven me crazy.

Sucks for divorced families who split the holiday. There are a lot of us. Oh well.

There is not a magical calendar option that will work for every single family dynamic.

Aren’t you still going to have more than 10 days? Something like 12? That seems like more than enough time, and I say this as a product of divorced parents and two blended families.

Heaven to Betsy. There is still plenty of time for your child to split the break between two houses, if that’s how you choose to manage the holiday.

It's still 12 days long.
