I would guess that he would pass out on the floor. At some point he could have woke up and gone to bed. Still odd he didn't text or call anyone.

If you hit your head with such force on a marble floor to the point where your skull is cracked, your orbital bones are also cracked, you have major internal bleeding, wouldn't you still be on that marble floor? how could you have enough stamina to get up and then get into bed. wouldn't the pain be so immense that you'd just be in the bathroom unable to move? how did he get himself into bed? IMHO, he was struck over the head with an object. Someone managed to leave the room without being detected.

Not unless you hit a corner, edge or something like that. Lots of head injuries are closed, which is what makes them so dangerous.

No, "everyone" doesn't, and reading back just the last page of this thread full of CSI / L&O "experts" posting paragraphs of gross speculation makes it seem even more likely that the family just wanted some privacy from the public.
