I was in the ER the other day, beautiful sunny late spring day, and the ER was teaming with sick people, best guess is Covid, since the intercom system was strangely quiet, not a lot of code yellows being announced.
There were people, adults, mostly middle aged and elderly lining the halls of the children’s section of the ER, when I remarked to the attending physician on how busy things appeared to be he wearily announced that last week was much worse. Docs were clearly frazzled and the standard of care was way off for FFX. Not a good time to be in need of ER services.
