So, tell us more! I live about a mile from Landon and drove by there in my way home from work because I knew about the championship game from this thread. I couldn't believe how many cars were parked on the grass or how loud it was from the road.

As a Holton parent I would say both. Maybe the girls were looking past Episcopal given the score of their earlier game? I will add that Episcopal was very dangerous with their sticks and they were warding and holding for the whole game but for some reason the refs were clueless and almost never called it. It was a strange game for sure.


Holton played very poorly. Only one of their players was really "on". It happens.

Good read on Inside Lacrosse blog this morning.

I was not aware it was Coach Bordley's final season at Landon, he has done a lot to grow the sport in the DMV area.

Yes, that was very unexpected since Holton beat them 17-5 in regular season.

And, because both the private school world and the lacrosse world are very small and often intertwined, you usually know most of the players if your kid grew up playing. Its so much fun to see which kids you knew from U9 and U11 are still playing, fun to see the other parents you used to chat with on the side lines of youth games, fun to watch your kid's current club team mates compete on opposite sides during the Spring middle and high school seasons. You always know enough kids on every team to root for - even if you hope your kid's school will win. I have more than one kid, of both genders, who grew up playing lax so I know kids on every single school team in the area.


Just so you know, a lot of us really aren't having fun hanging with you on the sidelines.

What others said + many of us have kids who will likely play at the collegiate level. This area is still a hotbed for HS girl's and boy's lax.


MD (and Long Island) have the deepest history, tradition and talent in the country -thus you are watching the very best players in great games, many rivalries where the opponents also play together as teammates on club teams in the summer which win national championships.

If you knew anything about lacrosse you would know they have one of the worst coaching staffs in the area


Ignorant comment - Bullis has been winning with far less depth and a young team. Their assistant head coach Horsey was WCAC coach of
the year at St Johns as a Head Coach, Megill their D coach was an All American at MD and a very strong club coach. If they lose it is
due to depth, not coaching.
