Far-right political activist Laura Loomer hit out at Senator Tim Scott, a South Carolina Republican, over his comments he made in response to controversial video that was posted, then deleted from President Donald Trump's Truth Social account on Friday

"I showed this tweet posted by Tim Scott to President Trump last night. 14 million views on a lie because [Scott] wants to cost the GOP the midterms & smear President Trump," Loomer, a staunch supporter of Trump, wrote in part on her X account on Saturday. "Why hasn’t he deleted this tweet? He is deliberately trying to sabotage President Trump."

President Trump called Sen. Tim Scott on Friday after the South Carolina Republican publicly urged the president to remove a reposted video depicting former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes, according to sources familiar with the call.

During the conversation, Mr. Trump told Scott, who is chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, that the repost was a staffer's mistake and said he would take it down.

He has declined to apologize for taking out a newspaper ad advocating for the death penalty for 5 black men who he thought raped a white woman in Central Park, who were later cleared with DNA evidence.

So no, we shouldn’t give our racist potus a pass on this one.

I am not surprised at all but still depressed that this incident is just going to pass with zero consequences and very little attention, in part because The Trump Show is such a nonstop nightmare that we actually don't have the bandwidth to have a conversation about how revolting it is that the President of the United States shared a blatantly racist meme about a former President and when called out on it, just doubled down.
