Despite their sad and pitiful campaign, I know no parent will take them seriously.
It's clear what they are
I think that you think that is what people think about the players and their families reveals an insane level of insecurity.
The best thing about DCUA is its players. Even if some top prospects opt out or go elsewhere, DMV is a very talented area with great potential. DCUA families will maximize the experience at DCUA despite the deficiencies.

This is where you completely miss the mark. No one really cares about DCU. In fact, DCU is not worth caring about. It's irrelevant. What people do care about is having correct information at their disposal to make decisions about whether to invest their son's time in DCU. That is what this whole thread is about. Providing context and perspective on DCUs actions and inactions that paint an accurate picture of the state of play there.
All of DCUs shortcomings have been exposed here so that parents can at least have one place where there is strong information about an academy that doesn't have any public information available about it. But at the same time pushes misleading narratives about its efficacy and it's pathway for the players.
The kids and parents of those kids looking at DCU as an option are the target of this thread. Not DCU. DCU isn't worth the time and energy. Saving people from making mistakes with their son is. And if that means that every problem at DCU gets exposed in the process, so be it. Lack of staff, no money, no second team, no facilities, minimal on field success, no development methodology, weak online school, no investment, money grab RDS, all of it...just paints the picture of what DCU is...A second rate MLS academy acting like they are first rate, that isn't any better than many of the local clubs in our area in terms of development or end game results (i.e college). This is just a FACT. Has nothing to do with sour grapes or a kid not being selected or anything like that. These things are uncontroverted and everyone knows it.
The reality is that even the USSF knows that DCU is a joke. If you're at the level and have interacted with the USSF they will tell you straight up that DCU is not the greatest club to be in for many reasons. This is KNOWN. If you want to live in fantasy land about DCU, that's fine. But don't expect anyone else to live there with you. Be at DCU and in your mind think all is good. Just do that...

I remember they destroyed them all at U14s even with the MLS Next teams using biobanded players and DC using players playing up
Exactly what i think the point was: they're above average. They didn't destroy every team btw. Last season, they lost to Baltimore Armour and tied Real FA, Cedar Stars, TSF. Across academies, they lost to Philly, RBNY. Lots of wins, including a bunch of +1-2 goals score lines.
I actually think it's good the academies play up a year. They are presumably a collection of the best players in the region and they should be pushed harder for their own development. I don't think DCU should be ashamed of the volume of losses playing a year up. The best MLS Next teams would also have a huge volume of losses. Which is what I understood the point to be: they are above average for their age group, and an average at best academy.

Yeah well, I don't know of a parent who says they have grown children and are busy being involved in highest levels of international soccer who goes to games of others peoples kids so they can rag on them in an anonymous forum
If you're talking about me, I'm the older guy who is retired. I haven't responded to your recent posts. These are other people. I know too much about football for you. You can't a battle with me. You're just not on my level.

Anonymous wrote:If you're MLS Next you can watch all the games online. The U-16(15?) DCU team does not seem bad, they just seem like an MLS Next U-15 team. Probably an above average U-15 team. I don't fault anyone for sending their kid to play there and this isn't a judgement. Just what I have seen.
My guess is the below averageness of the academy compared to other academies has to do with the ownership of the whole club rather than any particular kid or coach.
