Iran and Oman are discussing a permanent Strait of Hormuz toll

Iran and Oman are actively discussing a permanent security mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz. Iran is pushing to institutionalize and normalize a transit fee or toll on commercial shipping vessels navigating the narrow waterway. According to an Iranian diplomatic envoy, the proposed system is designed to secure the long-term positioning of Iran and Oman as the primary regulators of the strait, effectively transforming a temporary leverage point from the recent military conflict into a permanent sovereign right.

US investing $2 billion in quantum computing companies. So US taxpayer dollars are going to purchase the means of production in a capitalist economy. Last time I checked, that is socialism.
Where are all the anti-Harris MAGAs?

This makes perfect sense. If you think about a construction site, there are a bunch of people with skills - carpenters, dry wallers, electricians, plumbers etc. And then there are the guys who are just hauling stuff, sweeping etc. If there are undocumented on site, it is usually that last category. When constuction falls apart because of deportations, then all of those folks are out of work.
+1 yep. With the disaster that is the labor market, I’ve gone ahead and tabled our planned six figure renovation. The fact that some “proud Republican small business owner” might go a little hungry this year was a nice bonus.
