Ha! You can’t guarantee anything. Clearly you didn’t see many games this spring. Visi, SR and Holton all have a shot of beating them.

Well... those teams will win their conferences - BI the WCAC girls and SSSAS the IAC (Visi has a chance but its a long shot). AND more importantly, the top ranked national teams will have invitations ad opportunities to play in some tournaments that dont come to non-ranked etams.

Interestingly Visi and Stone Ridge had a very tight game yesterday, with Visi winning 10-9.

Once again Visi is not living up to its potential. This is not the first game they played this year that should have had a bigger spread. The issue with Visi teams used to be overly involved parents who were allowed to dictate to the coaches. I don't believe that is the problem now but don't know what is. Now, that said, SR is definitely a program that is trying to make a name for itself. SR hired a great coach away from Holy Cross last year and she is determined to make a name for SR in the lax community. There are some outstanding SR freshmen players but more generally SR has no where near the depth that Visi does. Very interesting...

The games between the top four teams were all very close this year. SR, Holton, Visi, and SSSAS were all 1-3 point spreads. It has made for an exciting season with no guaranteed winner.

Washington Post ranking is fake news! Absolutely everyone gets a trophy. Anyone on that list not in the IAC would not win a game in that league and if they were in the WCAC would finish 6th. Who in the heck is ranking these teams for WaPo?

Churchill would lose to STA by 5 plus goals.

Riverside would probably lose to Robinson by a couple too.

These rankings are terrible.... no Saint Mary’s from Annapolis

So much for DeMatha. They lost to O'Connell in the first round of the WCAC playoffs yesterday.

Thanks to whoever posted the lax scholarship stats link and the PP who further recommended it.

Agreed. The rankings have always been about increasing and maintaining interest/enthusiasm for a wide range of teams. You'd think that now that the sport is big enough, they could be honest about who deserves to be there without throwing in the undeserving publics or remote teams.

Can we talk about how utterly uninformed the Washington Post boys lacrosse rankings are?

For those who have more intellectual capital or curiosity than the foul-mouthed PP above, the site at the link above is really useful for anyone whose kid has not yet started the recruiting process. If you scroll down, it lists every 4 year and 2 year college program that has a men's or women's lacrosse program, plus average scholarships for the DI and DII schools, and the middle 50% percentiles for the SAT and ACT and other admissions and cost info.

I read the posts to learn about what's going on with local teams. Not to see some douchebag's "research" about D1 scholarships in context of a stupid argument about the strength of boys vs girls lax.

You do, it's why you view posts here, and why you commented. Though less intelligent, your post makes as much sense as 'delete this thread' guy.

You realize that you don't need to read this forum, right?
