I had terrible side effects, and I stopped using it over two months ago and am still having abdominal pain. CT scan showed diverticulitis that was spurred by inflammation caused by Wegovy. I probably already had it, but it was asymptomatic until the Wegovy caused serious inflammation in my body and now it's active, inflamed, and not going away.


What are you talking about? You make no sense. Semaglutide is anti-inflammatory and you have diverticulitis because of defective colon lining, poor diet with low fiber, and use of nsaids, opioids, and steroids - med profesional here. Semaglutide did not spurred the inflammation, it was mainly your poor, long term diet and sedentary lifestyle.


You are clearly not a doctor.

I had no side effects until i went up to the 1.7 dose then have had severe nausea for 2-3 days of each week - like bad morning sickness and vomiting if i eat certain things - has anyone had this and had it go away as you tolerate the higher dose? Up until now the drug has been working well and I have lost 21 lbs in 3.5 months

Check your insurance formulary. It will usually indicate if a pre auth is required. If you are obese you will meet the criteria so it shouldn’t be an issue.

I am eating as if I were at a healthy weight and eventually I will get there. If you don’t make a permanent lifestyle change, all the weight comes back once you are off these drugs.


If you’re in the DC area, I would greatly appreciate the therapist recommendation.

PP above that lost 25 lbs in 3 months. I am eating healthy and thinking, what would a person who weights 160 eat? I know once I am off the drug my hunger will come back. But, surely my stomach has shrunk if I eat well for a year. If I keep eating the right foods and portion sizes, surely my stomach adjusts a bit. And the habits are more part of a regular lifestyle. I suppose if I eat the way that got me to 267 I will gain it back. But I hope I continue to eat well. Unlike prior diets, I do not feel deprived. I eat chocolate, cake etc. Wine. Just not much. Any I have come to love veggies and gobble them up routinely. So hopefully this drug is a tool and eventually I can stand on my own. If the weight comes back notwithstanding good eating habits, then hell, gimme the gastric sleeve.

Congratulations! This is a big accomplishment.

I've had success with Mounjaro and am close to a healthy BMI. (55 pounds in 6 months)

My Cigna ppo plan says they’re covering it, but it had to go to review once I submitted the Rx at CVS. A week later, I received a letter saying they would cover it. Of course, actually getting the Rx filled is an even bigger problem, so I’m in limbo.


Did you get it filled?

I start Cigna PPO Jan 1. Is your doctor in MoCo? (moving from Tricare, which covers nothing, so looking for a good provider too)
