For the thousandth time

People are stock piling water and house items in case of a quarantine
We don’t have to leave our homes to go out and get these items

Also, prepping in case people buy everything up
The preparation starts now

Anonymous wrote:Because nobody normally piles this stuff. It is bulky and takes space, Most city people live in apartments with zero storage space. Now they buy a pile because if this hits the fan and either stores close or they will have to be isolated then they wont get any. Also even if nothing closes but with local cases one will choose to stay home instead store hopping risking exposure? Since TP goes fast. Statistically a person uses The average person uses 100 rolls of toilet paper per year, for family of four this is..400 roles for a year or.. 33 roles per family per month..
So you make two month supple... and end up with.. 66 roles, if they come in pack of four.. you need hysterical amount of 17 sets...so in theory one shopper can clear the given shelf stock of 4 pack roles without even trying..

Seriously? No way do people use 100 rolls of TP a year. Maybe if you buy the super cheap off brand stuff. My charmin lasts 1-2 weeks in the bathroom. I buy a costco bag of TP and it lasts me about 6 months.

I question this too. We're talking about quarantine not an EMP or zombie invasion.

I keep grabbing extra things when I run to the store, literally an extra container of peanut butter, a few cans of beans or soup, etc. As it stands I think we could last 6-8 weeks if we needed to without leaving the house, which is the goal. DH and I figure if one of us gets it, the other will follow.

And if not then we've can go super cheap for the weekly grocery budget

in our area the following are out or low supply - cases of water, hand sanitizer, ground beef. The latter was strange - maybe that’s a store issue than lots of ppl buying it.

Even in the hospital where I work we are only using them in emergencies. Other than that, nobody is stockpiling anything. Regular supplies of children’s Tylenol/ibuprofen on our shelves.

Shocking.

My friend lives in Washington and she said just the opposite. The stores were a mad house. Lines for Costco were around the block.

Ppl have definitely been stockpiling. Water cases short on Sunday at two stores and out of hand sanitizer.

You need frozen veggies.
And fruits because the fresh stuff wont keep long.
Tomato pasta sauce jars dry shelf stable parmesan...

Oil, sugar, onion, flour, maple syrop , pancake mix, extra cereals, raisins, dates, nuts,...but no bolts
Advil?
No aspirin in viral diseases and flu, can be deadly.

You aren't going to get scurvy from staying in your house 2 weeks. Man, crazy

My thinking, even if food will be ther and stores open in actual outbreak, do I want to go to the store where sick people are shopping? I stopped shopping in Safeway once they uppef pharmacy, all sick people sneeze on fruits while waiting for prescriptions to be filled or just shop by the way. Insane idea keeping farmacies in grocery stores and then we have flue spreads.

STORAGE SOLUTIONS

Brilliant solution for space strapped city dwellers

If you have a. car. you can always stash stuff in your car. Trunk or cabin. If it is not visible so wont attract thieves.
I would not keep food but maybe toilet paper?..

Another option, flat rollin container with lid that fits under the bed,, Target, walmart and Bed B and B.. and container store and amazon all have them.

Wait are you suggesting looters are coming for our toilet paper?

Wth the smelly bottom!

Can someone tell me more about the CoQ10 supplement someone suggested in the local thread? Is this something the average person might benefit from, like elderberry syrup?
