Bethesda ECNL did quite well as did the MSC team in the second bracket. In previous years most of the local ECNL teams and Pipeline played but this year Pipeline, MD United, McLean and BRYC played but were missing this year.
Let’s keep this in perspective. In 05, Bethesda squeaked by STA second team 1-0 and 04 ties STA second team and that is doing quite well? Maybe relative to this tournament but when we start comparing to the DA it’s a different story where STA first team is playing. This is a great indicator of the strength of the DA versus ECNL.
Good point. STA’s DA team is impressive. Right now they have a 40 point goal differential, and only played 7 games. Arlington lost to them 2-1 and MU tied. They have a strong striker who is the top goal scorer in the league.
FCV played them on Sunday. That was probably a great game.
I’m sure their 2nd team is good, but a different level.

Are you sure MU tied? I thought they lost, in every age group actually except the U19s. MU U19s won 2-0.

Loudoun's ECNL also top team; however, now we're incorporating a bigger area so it really depends where you live. Excluding DA/ECNL I would say SYA, Herndon, SYC, and NVSC--all are highly competitive and have had some great results. Herndon and SYC have other strong teams, although that's not to say SYA and NVSC aren't successful. So long as you are playing at a club you want to, you've made the right choice. If your route is D1 soccer, there's more to it than just the club developing the player.
It’s nice to see that top team Loudon ECNL tearing it up in the 4th flight in Bethesda Cup.![]()
Threatened by Loudoun, are we? Guess your kid didn’t make the cut?
My kid has never tried to make a Loudoun team. This is just laughable. Loudouns ECNL teams are terrible. The 05 is one of the worst in the very weak MA.
Your kid never tried because you know she couldn’t make it. Even if they aren’t a great ECNL team, they’re all better than your kid. Sour grapes my friend, sour grapes.
bitter Loudoun parentAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Arlington DA, McLean ECNL, BRYC ECNL surely top teams.
