My kid started out as #2 on the waitlist for pk4. Now he's at #10. I thought this was because there were kids whose siblings enrolled in between when the lottery was done and now, and so they got the 'sibling attending' preference applied. But I just enrolled his older sibling, and he still doesn't have that preference listed.
Are the kids who are now in spots #1-#8 kids with older siblings who are currently attending? If so, why weren't they initially higher on the list?
Could be. What school is it? Use this: http://enrolldcps.dc.gov/node/61
He may jump on the list when the paperwork goes through.
West. It looks like there are a bunch of kids who are in-boundary. I don't understand why they weren't ahead of us before, though. Maybe they moved? That seems like a lot of people, though. I guess ultimately it doesn't matter why.
Swami says this. Including people who "struck out" in the lottery and re-added in the 2nd round. Are you IB or OOB Sib?
In-boundary kids who enrolled and pulled their PK4 sibs in, most likely. Sounds like you're OOB, sibling-pref, yes?
Yes, we're OOB, sibling-pref. It looks like all of the kids who were in-boundary got in initially, but then more entered in the 2nd round. (Or I guess, moved and then applied the in-boundary preference.)

I'm waitlisted
EL Haynes - 7
Mundo Verde 8th - 29
How do I order to keep both in play? Right now, EL is above Mundo...
Swami assumes this is for PK3, and if so, if in your real order, keep as is. Swami thinks you'll get offers for both before the 4th of July
Swami, what’s you’re MO? I know you said you’re on spring break but ever since December when you started another thread, you’ve been responding to like one out of 15 posts. Why bother?
Swamis MOs in order:
1) unpaid job (parenting)
2) paid job (stressful)
3) terrible reality TV choices
4) swamiing on anonymous internet sites.

Then stop posting when you don’t have time to respond. And if you do, at least go back to the dozens that asked first. I couldn’t care less, but it’s annoying and rude.
Swami says the PTA president at your new school can't wait to meet you.
