a similar question was asked in the last board meeting; so the question was does the person who is being bought out have to be eligible for retirement or or could they offer this incentive to any employee and the response was that that they’re only allowed to offer this to people who are are eligible for retirement. That a restriction is placed on MCPS by the state something to do with the pension system.
