The first official sign that Trump is already slowing the global economy:
OECD has just downgraded both the US and global growth forecasts - and raised its inflation forecasts - for 2025 and 2026. Org primarily blames rising uncertainty and trade wars.

Yup. Second lowest number in the last decade.

Trump and Elon seem to have forgotten there are a lot of boomers and elderly in this country. They depend on social security, Medicare and Medicaid. They are very worried about cuts and difficulties receiving their benefits. This is not about boycotting Amazon and Target. It’s worry about making ends meet.

He literally said we have no manufacturing in the United States.

This sort of thing could take a decade to show results... not a happy time.

We have some manufacturing here. I work in clean energy. Companies invested billions of dollars in manufacturing in red states and employ thousands of people. These are very high wage jobs yet Trump is trying to kill the industry. Plus, we need all of the available energy we can produce. I still can't believe members of Congress will allow him to kill jobs in their districts, but that is what is happening.

How we went from the R position on energy being “all of the above” to being actively hostile to the cheapest forms of electricity is a mystery to me.

There was an R from Georgia who wrote to EPA saying they should adopt a clean air standard because it might interfere with a new EV manufacturing plant in his district.

Now they are killing both the clean air standard and the tax credits and standards that encouraged EVs.

Agree. Totally bizarre and nonsensical that "American energy independence" means banning wind and solar.
Wake up, Republicans. You are being sold a raft of lies.

I want to know what utter morons keep telling Trump his economic ideas are great.

STOP DOING THAT. Dementia Don needs to know the truth.

Russia is a petroleum company operating as a country. combine that with the alignment with the Saudi's and big oil in the US and voila.

This leads to world war, which is, of course, what MAGA and Russia want. Hence the projection of "Biden is starting WW3" over the summer.

These are some of the biggest employers in many areas. The Trumpcession is spreading fast.

Universities are economic engines as well as centers of education and excellence. This is a pure dismantling of institutions that make our country great.
