Why, why, why are Alito and Thomas allowed to remain on the Supreme Court!?
They are law abiding Americans.
Hate it all you want. Lol.
They’re not abiding this law, though:
28 USC 455: Any justice, judge, or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.
Mrs. Alito may legally do as she wishes. Suck it.
Like Caesar's wife, the behavior of spouses of high government officials should be above reproach. Below is a simple explanation of what this means and should not overload your two functioning brain cells.
'What does judges like Caesar's wife should be above suspicion mean?
To put it briefly, the phrase means that those holding important public positions should avoid even the appearance of wrongdoing. Their behaviour must always be “above suspicion”, since any misconduct, or rumours of misconduct, by them besmirches the
high office they hold.Dec 18, 2022"
Except don't we now know that Alito's story about his wife flying the "distress" flag for a few days in response to a rude neighbor was all made up?
The "pine tree" flag - a symbol of the Christian nationalist movement - flew over his beach house for WEEKS. It's even on the Google Maps picture. And he has 3 flagpoles outside his house, where the "Appeal to Heaven" flag occupied the tallest one. A Supreme Court Justice chose to fly it instead of the actual flag of the country he serves.
Which is more disrespectful to our flag - flying it upside down or not flying it all?

Right. You’d shit railroad spikes if Elena Kagan’s husband flew an Antifa flag over his house.
It would be awful! But Kagan would still not be expected to recuse herself. The husband has rights on his own personal property and his own freedom of speech.
