There are so many other issues at play here that many people will rank higher than abortion. I would say voting for a Dem means the following:

Higher taxes, higher spending, continued failure at the border and illegals immigration, increased crime and less enforcement, CRT in schools and DEI, higher energy prices, naming gas stoves (see NY and CA). For the DEI, was it Oregon that dropped all graduation standards for kids being able to read/write and do math to graduate in the name of Equity?

Sure, you got abortion. But so many other economic issues to deal with.

Dude, Virginia’s in a budget surplus, no one is raising taxes. I hope whoever is paying you to be an anonymous troll gets their money back for your ignorant post.

But now that you bring up taxes, Virginia has a surplus of money and schools still aren’t fully funded. GOP loves to talk up Parents Rights but not fund the schools?

Exactly. When you look at the actions, not just the words/lies, then any reasonable person who values public education should not be voting GOP.

That’s because the GOP’s agenda is to gut public schools. Some of the best public schools in the country…

It's a pretty brilliant little trick, isn't it? Defund public education to appease religious zealots, anti-tax executives, and racists who prefer lilywhite schools, and then convince Republican voters to blame the decline in the quality of public education on CRT, trans kids, and "wokeness."

+1

And the dummies all eat it up.

Serious question — aren’t some school districts (eg, FVPS) still sitting on COVID money? Separately, if we want to make progress on school funding, shouldn’t someone be advocating that it comes its own pot rather than a general fund? I haven’t looked at how the money is organized, but it comes up whenever someone says, “oh, play the lottery … for the kids. The lottery money goes to schools.” No, it goes to the general fund where schools and other state entities draw money. It could go to school or it could go elsewhere.

Not looking good for Ds
https://www.politico.com/news/2023/10/25/republicans-early-voting-virginia-youngkin-trump-00123376

I read your link. It says that more Republican voters are voting early than previously did. It didn't say anything about more Republican votes or more Democratic votes. Not sure why you would editorialize?

If you read the article, it says that early voting has been an advantage for Democrats that is one of the factors for electoral success. It says that Youngkin has made significant effort to turn that around, despite the drag from Trump. So if his efforts are showing signs of success, and we don’t know for sure, it could be Democrats in this swing districts getting fired up to vote early, then it is positive for the Rs and not so positive for the Ds.

Um, this is a state election. Most of the crazy you post is decided at the national level.

You are just copy pasting nonsense here.

But, I 100% will be voting to keep you crazies from banning abortion here or whitewashing history more than you already have or forcing FCPS to stop being inclusive of our LGBTQ+ kids (one of whom is staying in my house this evening-they and my daughter were at a party this evening in our neighborhood)

I refuse to be forced backward on things we have made such progress on, progress which makes this a better place for my kids.

DP. What on earth are you talking about? What a load of garbage.

I do believe pp is drunk and coming to terms with the massive defeat looming for republicans in the Nov 7 Virginia elections

Explain to me like I am five how voting to a Dem candidate for the Virginia state legislature will result in “continued failure at the border and illegals immigration,” whatever the everloving phuck that means?

I agree, it sux. I'm pretty mad at the Republican party for making themselves 100% anti-abortion so that it has become the most important issue for me and for 70% of Virginian voters. They need to get over themselves and out of the woman's right to privacy. Then we can start on all those issues.
