I have a very conservative husband and I still have my name after 20+ years of marriage, he was very supporting during my abortion, he treats our daughters very well (they are apple in his eyes), and he contribute 80% toward all house work (I don't cook and I don't clean).
Then your DH is no longer really a conservative. He's what MAGA would call a RINO.
Nope, he even voted for Trump. You will be surprise how many republicans are not against abortion. I would suggest you go out and meet people instead of listening what media tells you about Republicans.
But he will continue to vote for anti-abortion politicians because MAGA! right?
I know what Rs are like. I used to be one and was surrounded by them. MAGA care more about things like taxes and border walls and sticking it to the libs, not about women's rights. The conservatives I know who couldn't stand Trump left the R party.
You really think your DH would be supportive of his wife being a progressive and working on gender equality issues? LOL. You are the one confused about what it means to be conservative.
I worked through the entire marriage and he was always supportive and supported me through the grad school. I don't work on gender equality issues and I am not progressive. But my husband was always the one to take kids to practice, doctor appointments, to cook for them and to clean when we did not have maid. He is very supportive of our daughters who both chose very male dominated careers for themselves.
that's nice, but why does he vote for politicians who want to take your DD's right to control her own body?
Do you believe that politicians have to run your life?
They shouldn't, hence, they shouldn't take away a women's right to choose her reproductive rights. Why does your DH support such politicians if you think politicians shouldn't run your life?
My DH doesn’t really vote.
But you really can’t think of anything to do to support women’s rights than to vote one way or another? Don’t you volunteer to babysit so single moms can work or try to get people out of prisons or anything? Anything at all?

I support single moms with my taxes. I don't mind paying for a single mom to afford childcare so that she can work. Conservatives, oth, think such a mom should pull herself by her bootstraps, or better yet, she should've kept her legs closed, or maybe taken shlt from her husband and stay married.
I don’t know. The conservatives I see at the shelter for pregnant women don’t seem to say anything like that. They seem to be supporting single moms with diapers and formula and babysitting.
How is it going to you to support people exclusively with your taxes?
Are those conservatives at the sheltering wiring single moms $1700/month for daycare?
If not then they need to butt the F out of women’s reproductive decisions
Uhmm…do you not even know any poor people? They have vouchers for daycare.
“They” don’t. Maybe just let women make their own healthcare decisions? Radical, right?

So you’re okay with abortion as long as a woman is wealthy enough to fly to another state to get one? I thought abortions bad.
It doesn't take a wealthy person to hop on a greyhound bus. You can pay $30 now or pay 300k later.
You also don't seem to know much about constitutional law.
There is zero reason why a woman should have to do that in the first place.
That's life. I don't think you would survive outside the US with all of your petty grievances.
Man-made abortion restrictions are not “life.”
Lol tell me you don’t know anything about international abortion laws. Amazed at how ignorant Americans are about this issue.
You could go to China or N. korea.
Most of the developed world has reasonable abortion laws, as do blue states. It's the stupid red states that have banned abortions. Why do you think some TX mothers are suing TX over abortion?
Most European countries ban abortion after 12 weeks, save for "life of the mother" type exceptions. Very few of them are laxer than, say, the 15 week Mississippi law that was upheld by the supreme court. France, for example, bars abortion after 14 weeks. My impression is that the trend in blue states is to allow it through the entirety of the 42 weeks of the pregnancy. I'm not exactly sure how you square this circle?

White men already have “dignity”. And conservatives don’t think women should control their own body - that’s not dignity.

That is a core belief of conservatives.

What does “very conservative” mean?
Why does he support Trump?
Why does he think his daughters shouldn’t have control over their own bodies?
What does “very conservative” mean? - he has conservative values.
Why does he support Trump? - financial reason, we benefited financially much more during Trump presidency. Security reasons, there were much less crime under Trump presidency.
Why does he think his daughters shouldn’t have control over their own bodies? - He does not think so. My daughters have full control of their own bodies.
What are “conservative values”?
He votes for politicians who are trying - and many succeeding - to take away their bodily autonomy. He isn’t protecting them or their rights.
He comes from generations of strong independent women and he raised his daughters the same way. No one taking their bodily autonomy.
By voting for Republicans he is saying he’s ok if they lose bodily autonomy.

A lot of conservative men that I personally know are very supportive of their wives professions, regardless if they are agree with it or not. From my observation, they are overall more supportive husbands than liberal guys. Not statistics, just my personal experience.
How are “liberal guys” less supportive of their wives?
They don’t do any housework AND don’t do any outside work AND don’t do child care.

? Your DH doesn't vote? Why not? If he supports a women's right to choose he should be voting.
I support single moms with my taxes. I don't mind paying for a single mom to afford childcare so that she can work. Conservatives, oth, think such a mom should pull herself by her bootstraps, or better yet, she should've kept her legs closed, or maybe taken shlt from her husband and stay married.
As a liberal, if you think voting and paying your taxes are all you have to do, you are one of many problems in our country.
“I support you with my taxes” is the liberal version of “ I will pray for you.” Both basically mean that you aren’t going to do jack shit to practically help someone out.

Sorry, you are troll. There are a lot of Republican black single moms in US.

Will he expect you to change your name when you marry? Would he support you terminating an unwanted or unviable pregnancy? Would he treat your daughters the same as your sons? Would he contribute equally in the home?
