Well, I wouldn’t group South American countries together. But in general, soccer has a lot of bad behavior. In England, it’s often said that rugby is a hooligan’s game played by gentlemen and football is a gentleman’s game played by hooligans. And if you’ve ever been to a premier game, wow that rings true. I thought Yankee’s games had foul language in the stands - they have nothing on premier league games. I have never seen so much foul behavior, spitting, cursing etc in my life! And I used to work in a psychiatric hospital including the prison unit. Just wow.

My opinion is not based on how good they are at soccer. I just really like Mbappe for no good reason.

I recently read Neville's review/comparison of Messi vs Ronaldo which I think is apt for Messi vs most players.

He said as they are now in their mid-30s, Ronaldo has lost some speed/athleticism due to age and his game has gone done. While Messi has also, the difference is Messi's creativity and being able to play so well in his head that he can make up for the difference, create opportunities for himself and others and doesn't rely on physicality.

Wait so you are sticking your chest out on his hat trick? He scored one from play and the others two were penalties. He had nothing to do with generating the penalties. He just took them. He was a non factor in 119 minutes. Mbappe did nothing in the two games leading up to this game because he was man marked by elite defenders. Messi at 23 in that game world have scored or assisted on 4 goals. Ronaldo would have 2-3 goals from the field and won the games. Mbappe is not in the class of those players at 23. Mbappe is a step below them.

The World Cup is a great tournament but in the early round the top teams face teams with player who are bench warmers in the major European leagues, 2nd or 3rd tier league players and domestic league players like MLS. Now the champions league is a big step up from the World Cup. Messi won his first at 18, 2nd at 22 and 3rd at 23. He won his first Treble at 22. Two Ballon d'Or by 23.

Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, etc you had to game plan them and they still destroy you. Mbappe is not at that level. Messi and CR are this generations Michael Jordan. People are always saying this player is the next MJ and they good player, elite players but not MJ. Mbappe is 23 and is the 2nd or 3rd best player on his club team(and that is not including Messi). Many think Haaland is a better player and he was not even in the World Cup.
