Right but if Pride’s recruiting is not established wouldn’t it be better to go with Capital?

This really depends on the year. Generally, yes. As others have posted on this forum the one exception where Pride was equal in talent on the field to Capital Blue was their 2023 team. That Pride team chose to stay together. But this was unusual.
Both Capital Blue and Pride Black played in the top brackets of tournaments that year and both had extremely high strength of schedules - top 5. The difference in those two teams was Pride had no clue how the recruiting scene worked and their players paid a steep price as a result.
Go to whatever team your DD can make that will play in the top brackets, plays a tough SoS, and the club has had proven recruiting success. If playing at a high level in college is the end goal.
Judging by most recent matchups - take Capital Orange over Pride Black. 25 Orange lost to 25 Black by 1 this summer and 26 Orange beat 26 Black in the fall 8-4 in their only matchups. 24 Orange has not played 24 Black but they are ranked a little higher.
As PP said, Capital is superior in recruiting so if that is your ultimate goal, stick with Capital.

These players have a good sense of where they stand. If you don’t know by now your DD is more likely grinding it out for 3-5 truly open spots. With over 100 kids trying out there’s less than a 5% chance of a random player making Capital Blue. Set proper expectations with your DDs and have realistic expectations for yourselves.
Capital is not going to build a team from scratch based on a 2-3 hour tryout. That’s barely enough time between water breaks to see any meaningful player time for 100+ kids. They already know who the top players are in the incoming freshman class. The reality of the tryout is to finalize the last few spots.
I have a 2030 girl so I don’t really understand how this works. Capital Blue takes 4 or so each from BLC, Pride, Stars, and Next Level? And where do the other 20 or so from their teams go?
Capital will take the top players regardless of club affiliation. It would be an unlikely scenario where an equal number come from 4 MS clubs. Historically, Capital has had a good idea which players they will add long before tryouts. There are usually a few spots open for 100+ kids trying out to fill.
Those who don’t make Capital Blue will go to Capital Orange or various other clubs.
