Fairfax may not be Loudoun, but it is very divided politically and the current School Board (preening, narcissistic, and more concerned with looking good than doing right) is a primary driver of the wedge.
Why did the NAACP object to Ms Reid?
Here is the NAACP's summary of concerns about Dr. Reid. Essentially, she lacks experience with a school system with the comparable size, diversity, and compexity of FCPS.
The issue we all agree on is that FCPS needs a superintendent who has commensurate experience in leading organizations of this size, diversity, and complexity, and that the
Superintendent of Northshore School District isn’t the right fit.

You're judging this on what? One picture? one appearance? Stop judging women on their looks.
Sometimes the appearance reflects the personality. Dr. Reid she reminds me of my former neighbor who pretended to be friendly while she was a total crazy, provoking person. I just hope this will not be the case of the new FCPS captain.
Wow. It’s this kind of brilliant analysis that I come to DCUM for. 🙄

The student walkouts are always a joke. They couldn’t care less. It’s an opportunity to skip class and post some social media content. The organizers of this are such clowns.
The student walk about was literally five kids - did you watch the video? It was staged for twitter and their parents clearly put them up to it.
They got by their own admissions they only got 20 from Westfield , 50 from McLean and 100 from Mount Vernon but this was out of over 7000 students from those schools. A very small number at best. For comparison there were around 300 walkouts per school in the aftermath of the Parkland s
