Bailey is a phenomenal actor. The flashback scenes really got me.
I hated the way they just ran at each other when they started kissing, in two different scenes , instead of doing some slow seductive thing. But generally I think they had good chemistry
Same, didn’t like how they collided but thought that might’ve been the direction or possibly the actress.

They really didn’t.
True, and I think it’s for the best. Any time an actor leaves between seasons and the story over-explains the absence it’s just distracting and draws more attention to the absence.
He wasn’t missed by me. The Duke may be physically more attractive than Anthony, but Jonathan Bailey’s acting is superior. He gave more than this role required and sold his character’s yearning for Kate.
I totally agree! I was impressed with how much he put into the role. The Duke was completely unconvincing -zero chemistry.
It is even clearer how true this is because I just rewatched several season one episodes. THe chemistry is totally different. The Duke is so handsome and that’s why it is so watchable but there is literally no other reason. Bailey gives an amazing performance and the chemistry is just off the charts in the second season. The difference is really stark.

+1 Someone said Baily is gay, but I was attracted to him. I wasn't attracted to the Duke, and they had zero chemistry.
