A 14 YO trying to “understand their gender” (whatever the hell that means) does not need to be searching the school library shelves for answers. This is barely one step above internet research. Said child needs to be under the guidance of concerned parents and physician.
A physician? Because maybe the an cure away the gay? WTF?
sexuality is not the same as geneder identity and gender dysphoria is definitely an appropriate topic for a physicaian

Bow before them!
That's essentially what McAuliffe said at the debate last night.
And here we go with the astroturfing. There are clearly people who don't have kids at FCPS posting on these threads.
Vile POSs.

The book may be pulled or not, and in the end the author(s) may actually sell more copies. Look on the bright side.
Just because the books are not a good fit for your kids doesn't mean they aren't a good fit for others.
Really? Please introduce us to the 14-year-old who should be reading about pedophilia and gay porn. I would love to meet the child for whom this trash is a "good fit."
One who is trying to understanding their gender and sexuality.

There is no pedophilia in either book.
There is no gay porn in either book.
This is the damage this political stunt did. The lies live longer and louder than the truth. I effing hate people who lie deliberately to score political points at the expense of students. And yes, students are hurt by these lies.
Read the reviews on Goodreads for either book. You will see the words of teenagers who appreciated the books, found themselves validated, inspired, understood, or found themselves growing in understanding of others. NO ONE is opening up a comic book in the school library for sexual gratification. The book as a whole is a sensitive and tough memoir. Not sexy.
But it doesn’t matter to you. You haven’t read it. You’re just gonna repeat the lies.
