Once again, Trump's stupidity getting in his own way. LOL
Most of us find this hysterical but of course Jonathan Turley seems bewildered.
Turley is this close to figuring out that Trump’s lawyers won’t engage in subordination of perjury. The man beclowns himself with panache.
Can you explain subordination of perjury? You mean the lawyers know that the documents are not, in fact, declassified so they won't get involved in saying that they were?
It is a federal crime to introduce, or cause to be introduced, testimony or other evidence, including an affidavit, known to be materially false.

Dearie is taking the view, along with other radical views like water is wet, that documents marked with proper government classification are in fact classified. So the burden of proof is going to be on Trump to prove he declassified them, and how, when, where, etc. So either Trump submits a sworn declaration (under penalty of perjury) and/or he gets others to swear under oath that they witnessed the declassification. If the lawyers know these people are lying, as they clearly would be, then submitting their statements under oath with be suborning perjury, which is a big no no.

That's just embarrassing.
Of course this charge is being led by an AG who should be in prison.

Not a lawyer but this seems...highly irregular. Don't documents submitted to a court generally stick to the matter and facts at hand????
Amici briefs can be specific to the facts at hand but they are often related to other considerations including policy and other wider issues.

Subordination prosecutions are rare but would you put your license to practice law on the line for Trump in a circumstance such as this? It appears none of them will do so. They gave away the game.
