Absolutely. They send them out to commit ASAP so they can fill it w/the remaining second that they didn't necessarily want to promote or were on the bubble. Then they do the same for 2nd & 3rd.

Honestly, I think you are giving too much credit here, not to mention it's odd to carry this 2023 trip cancelation two years later still.

It was a poorly planned and poorly timed tournament to take place in Florida in February 2023. The organizational meeting wasn't even scheduled until December 2022 and several parents voiced concerns at the meeting and privately that nothing had been set up for this event to actually take place just two months later. But sure, give one mom the credit for bringing down the entire trip.

In 2023 they tried to do a Florida trip again and it was canceled too due to the majority of parents not liking the December schedule. The team eventually had a trip in Feb 2024 to Phoenix (where they played a team from Richmond).

What did she do to get their trips canceled???

They will get kids turning them down and then send more offers. So not all of them but their first picks.

you have to realize the 09 team had to be rebuilt when those boys hit 9th grade. (7 grade and 8th grade years top players left) Valor couldn't replace that massive talent loss. So no unexpected that there are boys who don't belong at RL level.

Probably. I know they went out later in the evening after the first tryout for my child’s team. At least for kids they knew they wanted on top team again.
