The decision will not survive the test of time. You cannot justify stripping away fundamental human rights with "states rights" nonsense.

We have seen this before. It just forces the decision into the back alley but it can never fundamentally remove a basic right. The fight continues to get the law to again reflect this reality.

They didn't. They put this in the hands of the PEOPLE who elect state legislatures.

They forgot that it is a first amendment violation for the state to ram down a religious belief ("life begins a conception") on someone who does not believe that.

Texas teen pregnancy rate increases for first time in 15 years.

Sure am glad all those compassionate conservatives enacted supports for new mothers like they said they would. Otherwise there would be a real risk that lots of these kids would grow up poor, poorly educated, and turn out to be criminals and poor themselves.

Someone needs to start running ads with what these ignorant forced birthers have said, are saying, will say.
Most Americans are just going about their day and have no clue that people believe this stuff, much less want to legislate it.
If they believe this, what else do they believe?

Biden invited Kate Cox to the State of Union as one of their guests and she has accepted. Awesome.

I thought they were getting rid of all rapes in TX a few years ago. Isn't that what they told us?

This makes my stomach turn. I didn’t think it could get worse, but of course it will.

Imagine what awaits us societally if the GOP gets back into power.

Why not? Between the abortion bans and the paternal rights laws, if you’re a loser male, this is a guaranteed way to reproduce. Rape a pretty girl and she’s basically yours to toy with for the next 19 years. You get a kid and a baby mamma for free. With any luck, you can actually get HER to pay YOU.

I think what we’ll see next is an increase in vigilantism. If you can be executed for an abortion, might as well go hog and take out the rapist, too.
