The market will operate here. It already is.

There will be a market for pro vaccine businesses and a market aimed at those happy to swim in the viral stew. Anyone not expecting both is not paying attention.

Anti-vaxxer: Nobody can make me do anything!! My rights!1!1!! It's a free country!!!!! Don't trust the government!!
Private businesses: Okay, we understand. Therefore we are going to require covid-19 vaccination for our customers.
Anti-vaxxer: What?!?! OMG!!! OSHA will save me!!! OSHA make these private businesses do.the thing I want!!!!
I am a business owner and I will not turn customers away. My staff and I are all vaccinated. The vaccines work and cases are dropping. Unvaccinated people know their status and will carry on however they choose.
Is part of your decision based on how much of a hassle it would be to get proof from every customer?
We're never going to have a national vaccine passport. That puts businesses in a difficult position of having to figure out how to figure out whether a patron is actually vaccinated.
Some states have it - obviously the ones with large pro vax populations like NY.
They should be more careful, seeing how badly they screwed up their covid response last year.
No reason for places with more competent government, like Florida, to do so.
You seem to be deeply confused about the difference between the private market and government.
Or are you proposing that governments should force private businesses to take unvaccinated patrons?
I just enjoy taking digs at New York and its citizens and leaders.
So you do not understand the difference between private enterprise and government, and are therefore just dim. Well, that's consistent with being an anti-vaxxer at least.

Seems like it. And universities are uniquely able to have such rules, since they can give the students months of time to get vaccinated and provide proof. But, I doubt they'll be requiring proof of vaccination at the campus store or Starbucks.
That's quite different from, say, Safeway or the Nike Store. I doubt either of those companies want to task employees to confirm health records. Especially in light of the fact that there isn't any national system of proof on the horizon.

You heard how mask enforcement went in some places, didn't you? I'm vaccinated, but I would not be comfortable showing my phone and my information to anyone who isn't my healthcare provider. Like, I'm not going to share my business with the sub guy and he probably just wants to make my sub, take my cash and send me on my way. "Carding" everyone will slow down business, for one thing, and it will deter customers like me, for another.
That's fine. Other businesses will take your business. I don't view it as a hassle, especially if there is an app.
I have already decided to switch massage therapists to one who is requiring vaccination. She is so busy with work for the same reason that I have to wait two months.
Massage therapist. That is really entitled during a pandemic. You are why we have the spread.

No, lawsuits will.
What law is being broken?
