People are not grasping what is going on—they are looking at this and saying “oh he wants a better deal”. No that’s not what he wants. He wants to stay in power, and if he can’t, he wants to inflict maximum damage on his way out. Get it through your heads.
I don't think anyone thinks he's doing this for the people. They tried to frame it like that until it became clear that he was protesting his own spending choices. Dumb ass didn't realize that he requested that spending and spoke without thinking. Now he's rhetorically stuck.
I think some people do, and I think others think they are being clever by “calling his bluff” and moving to pass something that meets his fake demands. When will they learn. Don’t negotiate with him.

Anonymous wrote:How is anyone that stupid? He is just pressuring the senate to get behind his election grab. Eff him. The senate shouldn’t give him an inch. It’s not about the stimulus checks, as if. He doesn’t want to sign a deal without getting something that benefits him personally. The answer is NO. Now, time for everyone to speak loudly about what is really going on here and stop playing games.

This exposes Republicans in congress for what they are and it's good to see.
I agree. It tells me that Republicans are not going to pass a bill that gives millions and millions to other countries for silly programs and very little to the American people. Take out the pork and you’d probably get a deal.
Take out the $500 million for Israel.

As others have probably said before me:
Trump is extremely resentful that he lost the election. He has been made of no account. He may not even be aware of it, but he's trying to make himself the center of attention again, even if it's just to make people suffer.
