VDA denied a request to change an ECNL game so that a team could play in a tournament.
Guess it's not just Loudoun.

It’s good on these players. Think most of them came up through VDA.

This statement is completely clueless about how athletic scholarships work. Most, maybe all, Power 5 school scholarships are fully funded in football and basketball. That's not to say every player on those rosters has a scholarship, but teams have 85 scholarships to work with in football, and 13 in basketball.

Full scholarships are extremely rare in the non-revenue sports. In soccer specifically, the maximum is 9.9 scholarships in total for 25-30 roster spots.

The suggestion that a less than full scholarship for a top-tier soccer player is less impressive than a full scholarship for a basketball player at the end of the bench, who rarely plays, is foolish.
