Wouldn’t those with immune deficiencies have to live a bit secluded anyway? Covid is the current virus to worry about, but life in general is hard to navigate with those problems. I’m not trying to be flip here, but early on, I read an article with advice on how to avoid illness from someone who is compromised. Masks, minimal contact, hygiene, etc. They aren’t able to live life “normally” with or without covid

Just get yourself vaccinated and make sure to stay current. If you have younger kids, you need to hang on a little longer. We are sorry for you and others like you - it sucks.
I mean even after the kids get vaccinated, what about the people whose immune systems and bodies are such that their doctors have advised they not be vaccinated? What kind of life are those people going to have in red states? Just rolling the dice every time they want to have a meal out, or go to a wedding? Just as there was absolutely no reason for the pandemic to get this bad, there is no reason for our most vulnerable citizens to have to live a shell of a life because people are too dopey and blinkered not to get a vaccine.
+1 And there are also people whose immune systems and bodies are such that they don’t produce antibodies despite being vaccinated. I believe transplant recipients are one example.
