Why are all these stories not getting more media attention?
Have heard nothing on WTOP and I have heard nothing.
This should be something both political parties agree on - liberals should support harsher punishments for rapists (how else do you fight misogyny) and conservatives should support better enforcement of immigration laws.
This seems like a total no-brained.
MoCo politicians should FIX THIS!
Sex crimes are down 3%. All violent crime is down. When the media pick up a story and constantly blast it, it distorts reality for many people. Go to the original source to understand what’s actually going on. in this case, crime statistics and the law. The media don’t seem to understand either and they are doing the general public a great disservice.

NEW: Police say 26yo Oluwakayode Adebusuyi raped an intoxicated woman in his car.
Per ICE, the Nigerian native is living in the U.S. illegally.
This is at least the eighth undocumented immigrant charged with rape or sex abuse of a minor in Montgomery County, Md. since July 25.

A minor? I didn’t see that in the story.
Did see that he was a ride-share driver.

Citizens have to speak up and let Elrich know how this affects them. That is the only thing that will work, IMO.
Contact the MoCo Council and make noise.

Nobody in their right mind is behind Cuccinelli... even Gonzaga is embarrassed by their graduate.

So, are they saying that there haven't been seven cases of sexual assault by illegal aliens in the past 6 weeks?
What they are saying is there are 500 rapes in the past year and they only report on Hispanic rapes to make it look like only Hispanics rape.
Seems to me that they are reporting on the law breaking actions of men in our country illegally. And, given that Elrich has just recently declared that his jurisdiction will limit their cooperation with ICE, this is important.
See, what you just posted is incorrect. Which just shows what they released is true. You don't really care about rapist, your just a xenophobe.
or maybe you do care about rape victims... How is the volunteering going... oh warrior of saving rape victims?
Montgomery County Vows Not To Cooperate With ICE
Montgomery County has officially joined a list of jurisdictions across the country that refuse to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Its latest efforts are like that of so-called sanctuary cities, publicly working to protect undocumented immigrants.
County Executive Marc Elrich signed the Promoting Community Trust Executive Order Monday morning to honor the longtime promise to the area’s immigrant residents.
The order prohibits county officials from asking people about their immigration status and making threats based on citizenship. Elrich said county employees are forbidden from coordinating with immigration officers with the purpose of detaining illegal immigrants.
“Enforcing immigration law is the sole responsibility of the federal government of the United States,” said Elrich. “It is not in the interest of Montgomery County to utilize its limited resources to facilitate the enforcement of civil immigration law.”
Elrich said the new order also aims to improve community security by ensuring that immigrants and other vulnerable communities can engage with county departments without fear of being sent back to their country of origin.
“The present order is intended to ensure that the constitutional rights of immigrants in the county take precedence, and that county benefits and services are provided to residents regardless of country of birth or immigration status,” Elrich continued.
