The republicans and their immoral nastiness, win at all costs got us to this point. An anonymous author is no better. You are the company you keep.

If that's the case, they're a group of cowards.
Anonymous wrote:Does anyone else feel like this is just another manufactured distraction? We didn't learn anything new from this Op-Ed, but it gives Trump something to be a victim of and to rail against with his base.
Anonymous wrote:I could believe it was the Conways, working together. I doubt anyone who uses "lodestar" regularly would be dumb enough to throw it in there, but I wouldn't doubt that the person(s) who wrote the article knew exactly what they were doing by including the word. I'm sure Trump dislikes George Conway, but he--or his lawyers-- are probably at least smart enough to be leery of going up against him or his wife in a legal fight.

No reasonable person expects that. Anyone calling non-wingnuts hardcore or extreme liberals has never lived in the ‘60s or ‘70s. Or the Eisenhower years.

Also the piece refers to "like-minded officials" and uses the word "we" often when referring to efforts to stop Trump's decisions or impulses.
This implies collaboration or even conspiracy.
So while the author will be outed eventually (and no doubt the author knew this would happen and this is probably part of their strategy), the important and critical point is that there are many officials working against the President. We are already in the midst of a democratic and a constitutional crises.
The big question now is what will happen next?
So is this group the "Deeper State" or the "Not-quite-as-deep State" ?
The Shallow State?
Derp State?
