If a Coach was telling everyone on the team false information---my kid left because they didn't get a first team offer---and they did actually get the offer---and the Coach kept calling to try to persuade them to stay....I'm the type that would publicly call Bullsh*t as well. It's okay for them to lie and trash someone? And--you are supposed to smile and show up at the end of the season party with the Liar? I would definitely have said something at the party. And if I were another parent on the team, I'd be thankful for the parent for showing the lack of the integrity of the Coach for future reference.

Further, I'm sure the parent wouldn't have said anything at all if the Coach hadn't felt it necessary to spread untruth/lies in the first place. He didn't need to give the other parents an explanation why any player left---especially a completely false one! What an a**hole.

Different poster here. We have similar story to the above poster. I find that there is a lot of immaturity of leadership and a lot of 'scare tactics' with the travel Clubs. I find highly accomplished Travel soccer parents shaking in their boots and a**-kissing for fear if they say something or ask a critical question their kid will be black-balled or demoted. Why? Because it happens all of the time. Then you get the bandwagon parents that pile it on and trash-talk the families that left even though in private they were even bigger critics.

F*ck that. I looked at parents I respected and saw how timid and scared they were to make a change when it clearly wasn't working out for them. Why pay for crap? Why stay in a bad situation? Why pay several thousand dollars and be terrified if you speak up about something that is bothering you---it's the end of the run for your child at that Club? Why are parents hanging around in situations that are untenable?

Why don't all Club TDs act like adults and look for collaboration in this youth soccer thing--between Clubs, between teams, between leagues. Since they don't, we have Clubs right next door to each other that won't join the same Leagues. We are crisscrossing good competition to play worse competition a much farther drive away because of pissing matches. It didn't used to be that way. My parents were Coaches and some of their best friends were Coaches at other Clubs and they would trade information, etc. They did not have adversarial relationships. They all respected one another. This was when the sport was growing---now the market is over-run.

My guess--it's because Clubs are competing for $$ nowadays. So--they have to trash talk other Clubs, other players, etc. There is nobody better they will tell you. We got none of that type of talk when we joined FCB. They didn't even know the landscape--the reputation of Clubs in the area, etc. They didn't show a Power Point of their teams State Cup wins, etc and promise that your kid could become pro or get a full-ride if you stayed with them. They only know soccer. They love soccer. They love training kids. They are a paid full-time staff and this is their day job.---not something they just do after work. Our kids were not black-balled for playing for other Clubs while training with them. They weren't sidelined or penalized for missing a game or a training session because of a major test or a family wedding, etc. There is perspective.

People can trash-talk all they want. I will put my kids where they are happy, we are happy and they are loving the sport while gaining skill and knowledge---and having great role models that instill good values. You will not find Barca coaches screaming at refs or an unruly parental sideline or teammates arguing with each other on the field. Parents won't be shouting instructions at their kids and other players during games---if so, they will hear about it. It's not tolerated. And, it comes down to the training. I have looked far and wide and it's some of the best in the area.

I will add---not all Clubs are 'bad guys'. There are still decent people out there. There are some even reaching out to welcome Barca. But--to the ones that come on here looking to ridicule little kids that left their Clubs. Grow up.
