The fact is that Hogan still has an over 70% approval rating including MoCo and over 80% approval rating excluding MoCo. And Jealous' far left leanings are not doing him any favors. There are just as many people (or more) crossing into the Anyone-but-Jealous camp as are in the anyone-but-Hogan camp. I'm pretty sure that by selecting Jealous, the Democrats have handed this election to Hogan on a platter. Baker could have given Hogan a run for his money, but I doubt that Jealous will come close.

Also, do any of you Jealous voters have an HHI below about $200K or even $150K? I would be surprised if anyone with under those limits are really looking forward to higher taxes to pay for all of those programs and policies that Jealous wants to institute. It's going to take money to implement all that he wants and he is NOT getting any more from business taxes, in fact, he'll likely get less, so it's going to have to come from somewhere and increases to personal and property taxes are going to be the source.

If Jealous is governor and Elrich is MoCo exec, there is less than zero chance amazon comes here. The higher earning and upper middle class residents will be forced to keep shouldering more and more of the burden with fewer benefits in the name of social justice and they too will start moving across the river. This is what’s been happening the past decade or so based on all recent studies of the county’s economics (stagnant at best, sharply declining at worst) and demographics (newer residents are less wealthy than residents leaving the county). The only question was: are we going to continuing the policies that led to this, and perhaps even double-down on them with an Elrich/Jealous combo?
