Yep. I have nothing at all against heavier actresses, but Metz's weight is truly unhealthy. She always looks like she's close to having a heart attack. I honestly wish weight loss was going to be part of her story line.

I was 320 lbs before I had lap-band surgery, I completely understand why some are saying Kate's weight is distracting. It catches my attention too. Initially I thought it was because I used to be obesely large but I'm starting to think it's because we aren't used to seeing people at that size on camera. I'm not sure what they plan on doing with Kate's story line, but for myself, even at a healthy BMI, all issues come back to food. What's the point of having an actress that large if they aren't going to address the very real sugar/food issues in our country.

I totally agree. There's is still a lot to learn about Kate, but the mother/daughter relationship in last night's episode was one of the best in the whole series so far. I LOVED seeing Kate collapse into Rebecca's arms.

She *finally* made herself vulnerable to her mother and realized that she needed her. That made me so happy. I feel bad for Rebecca. There was never anything she could do to make young Kate like her, through no fault of her own. She was a great mom.

I wasn’t as into the episode as I expected. That’s ok. I’m practically drooling over Randall’s upcoming ep. and loved loved loved kevin’s.
Some thoughts, in no order.
-I realized, again, that Kate almost has no job. Gigs here and there. And THEN I realized that Kevin and Randall are also in between jobs, sort of. Just made me laugh. I am a sahm btw ha ha. As a sahm, I just see the daytime activities of the characters and it reminds me of me. Daytime errands and stuff have a different vibe
-^to the poster above, I happen to think that Kate’s relationship with Kevin is even MORE complicated than Kate/Rebecca. So that would be interesting should they ever get a chance to let it all out.
-Rebecca’s onion breakdown in the store. Discuss. I feel like I’ve been in that place, postpartum, with young kids, but didn’t act out on it.

I did this once. Premie and a two year old. I had not slept in forever and was so worried about the baby, who was in and out of the hospital with apnea spells. Premie had terrible reflux and was on special formula that came in a can (liquid, not powder). I went to Target, which was the only place nearby that had it and some of the baby fomula cans were very badly dented. I pointed this out to the stock person, who shrugged and said they wouldn’t have been put on the shelves if they weren’t safe. And I started sobbing in the middle of Target because, clearly, someone’s baby was going to get botulism or something and die. It was scary. I went from semi-pulled together to losing it in about 12 seconds. Part of me still thinks the stock person kinds deserved it. Because, come on, who stocks baby formula cans with huge dents? But it was also not my finest moment. In what was not my finest year.

One time when I had a baby, was pregnant again and very tired, I was at Arby's and had to wait in line to get to the soda machine which made me very annoyed. apparently I said the mean things I was thinking out loud because the man in front of me suddenly apologized and let me go in front of him. Ha. So I get Rebecca there!
