Of course it won't end united. I once was stuck on a crappy little jet to a destination where the company paid 3x the price of a jetblue flight on a nice plane to the same place.

Munoz is an a$$ and worked in general finance plus a brief stint in freight airline biz.

Where do you read pride. It is a fact. Companies have contracts. In the event that United is the cheapest option my company isn't going to accept my moral objection as a reason to pay more for my business trip. It is not a private company. Those savings need to go elsewhere to help others.

This is why I said you can spend your dollars as you choose but b/c of large company contracts this will not end United.

Munoz acknowledged to employees that the company could learn lessons from the incident, but said: "I emphatically stand behind all of you."

Looks like other airlines will be the ones learning lessons. One could be giving their employees better choices.

Hmm, yes. Broken contracts with their many partners and suppliers would probably be pretty costly. Much more than the cost of getting four employees where they need to be without physically harming a customer in the age of viral video.

I feel so sad about this: United once rescued me when I was out of the country and I had a family emergency. They got me on the plane and home in time to see a family member who was dying. I've felt huge amounts of loyalty to them for over a decade because of that.

But it's really hard to overlook this. I've always though they were such a great airline.
