Fwiw, I work for inova and we got an email saying the individual in question did not meet the criteria to be tested and reports of testing/confirmation in the media were false.

That's good but she also needs to ask "Have you had contact with anyone visiting from the effected countries?" Lots of visitors from those countries were downtown last week right near the GW hospital.

I think you meant to say "within the last 21 days". It would seem impossible unlikely for someone to come from W. African, commit a crime and end up in jail all in under 24 hours.

Your sample size is tiny and how far along are all those cases? I'd still far, far rather get a vaccine than get Ebola, even if my chance of dying were "only" 10-20%. Days or weeks in the hospital? No thank you.

yes, the 70 percent mortality rate is with third world care. Even Nigeria did significantly better than that with 20 cases and 8 deaths. Survival rate has been good in US and western Europe, probably partially due to quick diagnosis and treatment though.
