You realize that was a 2006 article?
Yes, I do. Did GDS expel him?

And you sound like someone who does not mind flapping away with your ignorance on full display. If you have ever had to be protected or work with someone who has, which is not unusual in this town, you learn the hierarchy of concerns for details, the difference between counter/surveillance, etc. Nearly every department runs their own protection - it is not as if there are only 20 Secret Service agents and five people under protection in the DMV/quote]
I knew that no one looks forward to visiting the DC Department of Motor Vehicles, but do they really need to protect DMV workers?!

They were holdog spots for the student with the racist email?

Different poster. Since you want to claim to know so much, why don't you tell us all exactly what the Secret Service thinks about securing MacArthur Blvd?
I can't tell you "exactly what the Secret Service thinks" but am familiar enough with what details do to secure areas to speculate: the presence of two apartment buildings bordering the school lot was probably the most problematic aspect of the equation. The campus being off a main street but hemmed in the back by Canal Road was also probably seen as a liability.
You sound like one of those people who has watched every Star Trek episode and consider themselves an expert on space travel. Did you get a special Secret Service badge on your exit from the White House tour?

I must've missed this when it occurred. The linked document with quotes from the email is pretty disappointing to see from the GDS community.
