That could well be a family name, though I can only see Jennifer Anniston when I read the name.

Doubt it. Especially since it's not even Jennifer Anniston's real name. She's Greek. Her real name is Annistakosanopolis or something.

Oh so then it could never actually be anyone else's name if it's not Jennifer Anniston's.

We had neighbors that named their son Camdyn. I could be wrong but that seems like a 'girly' spelling.

chlamydia would have been a nice name if it wasn't a STD.

I know about ten boys named Jaden and it doesn't make me hate the name. (not saying this is your child's name). If one's name was spelled Jayden I would think t was a stupid spelling but would use it to describe him. Jayden with a "Y". We already have "Neighbor Jaden" "Across the Street Jaden" "Cousin Jaden" Some of these kids share common last names or last initials.

May I ask where you live?

It did not take long for my daughters name to be mentioned here. I suppose that is a compliment

It's actually a nice name, but was ruined by a stuck up college classmate who would always correct anyone who pronounced her name with the typical American enunciation (Nad-ah-lee). She'd always say "It's Nat-uh-lee" with extra emphasis on the "t".

I have a friend whose name is spelled Nathalie. Her mother is from Luxembourg, and I believe that is the European way of spelling the name.

Wouldn't you be pissed if someone mispronounced your name?

As a Natalie, I feel uniquely qualified to answer this. No, I don't give a rat's ass how people pronounce my name. I've been called all sorts of things (Mataly, Nathalie with the 'th' said like in 'the', Madeline, to name a few), and I don't really care.

that's fine, I was just asking the question in general. I'd be pretty annoyed if my name was mispronounced repeatedly. Maybe she is pretentious, because there isn't a huge difference between the two to the untrained ear, but on the whole, hearing your name mispronounced can be aggravating.

The seventies names are pretty awful. If anyone names their kid "Rhonda" in this decade, just ugh...

Rhonda is a 50s/60s name (peak 1965 at #37).
