Maybe I have some tiny flicker of hope.
They'd still vote for trump
It's only been a month. Things are going to get bad. Like really, really, catastrophically bad. They will see the light soon enough.
This is precisely the kind of stupid and dangerous naivety that got us here. It's like some of you white liberal leaning people ( I know you're white) are so oblivious to the importance that these people put on their bigotry that you think you're dealing with rational and objective people. They weren't rational in 2016 and you think they'd be today ? You're fantasizing in your little out-of-touch corner that they'd come to you and say: 'You were right and I was wrong?'
You seem to forget that Trump LOST after his first terrible term. This time he is term limited but if you think folks don't change their mind about this jerk then you are not paying attention.
There will no exodus of MAGA to the democratic party. The most likely scenario is, they sit out the mid terms( if at all there will mid term elections) whilst the dems have an energized bloc show up and win resoundingly , that's it. I'm very much paying attention and that's why I think (and reiterate) that people are very dangerous. You sound an awful lot like the ones who were adamant that white women were going to overwhelmingly reject Trump. We know how that turned out .
It turned out a super old decrepit dude wouldn’t put his ego aside for the country and then a Bond villain bought social media and radicalized young men.
MAGA isn’t maga without a demagogue. I live in “real America” and plenty of my neighbors won’t be swayed, but they also won’t show up after Trump is gone.
There's no shortage of people vying to take the Maga mantle.

I don’t care if they sit it out. Recent elections have to do with turnout. I think those who want to vote them out will come out in droves and those who aren’t excited but don’t want to vote blue will stay home. It works.
