This criticism is legit. No clue why Biden didn't fire the faux wonderkid - Jake Sullivan - who keeps failing up.
Gold Star Families are notoriously protective of the memories of their loved ones. Those families would not be there unless they felt so strongly about how and why their loved ones died. The entire convention is saying their names.
This kind of thing at a political event nauseates me.
Why? Marines who gave their lives for our country can’t be represented by their loved ones and have their stories told? Why does that make you sick?
Probably because of the hypocrisy.
“[…]Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.” https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2020/09/trump-americans-who-died-at-war-are-losers-and-suckers/615997/
The goldfish Republicans have also forgotten Trump attacking the Gold Star Khan family. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/31/us/politics/donald-trump-khizr-khan-wife-ghazala.html
DP. The "suckers and losers" claim you all love to recycle was never verified and you know it. No one knows if it's true or not - since it's based on ANONYMOUS "sources" - and Trump has vehemently denied saying it. You look idiotic every time you trot it out as if it's a "gotcha" moment, but I'm sure it plays well with the rubes.

She’s not relevant but the right wing is evidently freaking out about her being not White. They’re really struggling and being gross.
Meanwhile her crap politics are right there to criticize.

She's not a nice lady. She's an a-hole married to an a-hole and is probably fine with him being an a-hole so she can "live her American dream" AKA get rich and brag to her parents' friends back in India.
Do you know them personally?
Not the PP, but my parents know her family (specifically her grandfather, who helped my father when he was an undergraduate student in India). They are good people.
Thank you for sharing. I’m a Dem and definitely voting for Biden but I enjoyed watching this event. There were some lovely and heartwarming moments.
I think it helps remind me that we are all human and although we don’t agree politically we are all Americans and should stand together. There must be balance and common ground.
+1 And I thought Usha looked gorgeous in that blue dress. They also seem like a genuinely loving couple.

Of course they should have their stories told. They should be honored at appropriate events by people who care. Having it at this convention makes it seem gimmicky. You know these politicians don't really give two sheets about these families. They are using them for a photo op. It cheapens it. It feels...wrong.
They died due to bad decisions made by this administration. They didn’t have to die if we stuck to the plan and withdrew from Baghram instead of letting NSC and State pull the strings.
It didn’t have to end like it did.

Is that how any normal family lives? How they remember their grandmother?
Seriously people, this is not the model of America we want to hold up.
It may not be the model we want but it’s the reality for many Americans to survive.
