What if there were other victims? It is crucial to address the fact that the response would have been different if the victim had been MA. TW would have been held responsible, while GA would have been portrayed as the hero in this scenario. The real issue lies with those in positions of authority who are attempting to conceal this matter. Reporting any misconduct within a 501(c) organization that operates a youth program is a legal obligation. They are fortunate to have the current president. This behavior from ED or CXO would not be tolerated by any company, resulting in immediate termination. It is evident that she lacks the qualifications for her position and only obtained it due to her relationship with GA. Prior to her employment at DC, she had never held a similar role in any organization, leading to the current situation. For DC soccer to survive this mismanagement, they need to take action by conducting a transparent investigation and keeping the ED and the board accountable! The first line of development is a SAFE environment!

It’s a mistake to think that adult-on-adult harassment has no impact on the protection of minors. When a youth organization fails to address misconduct, especially involving power dynamics, it fosters a culture of silence and tolerance that puts children at greater risk.

Safe environments for kids depend on accountability at every level. Ignoring abuse among adults signals that concerns may be dismissed across the board, which is exactly how minors end up unprotected. That’s why reporting and addressing all misconduct matters.
