Some people have jobs that don’t offer sick leave and don’t have health insurance. An older retiree can visit the doctor and spend time recovering on the couch if it gets bad. A 20 something who makes $13 per hour at a daycare can’t.
New poster. I do see this phenomena of young 20-something women being the most vigilant mask wearers. They tend to also have things like purple hair, tattoos, you name it. All the hallmarks of young progressive women. I wouldn't classify them as service workers who can't miss her job or she'll be fired
Do think it's virtue signaling to each other. And young women are more inclined towards righteous causes. Probably the modern version of all the young Sunday School teachers of 1823 clutching on to their crosses around their neck the way their great-great-great-granddaughter clutches on to her covid mask.

Not true.
But I have noticed a lot more masking in stores. Generally the elderly.
Oh it is true. The glares I am getting from the masked up weirdos in the grocery store is bringing back horrible 2020 vibes. Wear your mask. I couldn't care less. But don't judge me for not wearing one. I don't need one and my not wearing one has nothing to do with you.
It must be your NRA hat because it’s still mostly maskless in the DMV.

Should I have worn a mask???
Yes. Why didn’t you?"
Again, I ask those who are opposed to wearing a mask: Why should I, a person with an active case of COVID and lots of sneezing and coughing, take any extra steps whatsoever (like wearing a mask on a hot summer day when I'm already all stuffed up) in order to protect you, when you yourself aren't taking any actions???
FWIW, I have been wearing a mask since testing positive, just like I always do when indoors or in crowded areas. But it amazes me that the non-mask wearers are willing to count on me to go out of my way and buy masks and wear them. It doesn't make sense that anyone in their right mind would depend on me, a total stranger, to be responsible and willing to make sacrifices on their behalf. Since I'm sick right now and expelling the virus, I get pretty much no protection from wearing a mask today. The only people who benefit from me wearing it are the maskless people.

Same for MoCo.
I was in a target in howard county and there was a man and child both masked who kept trying to get away from me and others as soon as we got close by in the aisle - it was obvious.
